I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), dedicated to supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. I have experience working with clients navigating PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, family dynamics, and work/life stress, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood.
I graduated from Smith College School of Social Work in Northampton, MA, in 2002 and have been helping people with various mental health issues since that time. I have been trained in psychodynamic therapy, DBT, mindfulness, and Somatic Experiencing, among other modalities.
Welcome to doing something important for yourself! I will bring to the table 30+ years of practice as a licensed mental health counselor with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University. I specialize in trauma informed care and am able to draw from a wide range of modalities.
Hello! My name is Kristen. I've been helping teens and young adults feel more supported, confident, and understood for over fifteen years. Whether you are managing anxiety, trauma, or just life in general, I am looking forward to helping you grow.
Your brain is always going, a constant loop of ideas, worries, and “shoulds.” You feel pulled in a million directions but can’t seem to start or finish the things that matter most. Deadlines sneak up, motivation comes in bursts, and overwhelm feels like your baseline. You might procrastinate until the last minute, avoid things that feel scary or hard, or overcommit to keep everyone happy, only to feel burned out and guilty later. Shame and self-criticism show up daily. More than anything, you want to quiet the mental noise, feel capable and calm, and stop beating yourself up.
Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), currently licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I received my Masters from Boston College and have more than 10 years of Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health experience. My clinical background derives from psychiatric inpatient, corrections, outpatient services, family/school/ community-based programming, and emergency crisis services. Culturally sensitive, I am always eager to serve diversified backgrounds, ages and communities.
Throughout my experiences, I have worked with several diversified populations, which I take great pride in. These opportunities have allowed me to gain first hand experience in truly understanding the value in meeting others where they are. This has been one of the greatest lessons I've embraced as a Clinician.
I grew up in Massachusetts, and have lived in rural towns as well as cities throughout New England. I am a compassionate therapist who listens to you without judgement. Helping adults who are struggling with life challenges is a priority for me and one that I value and uphold with a respect for each individual client. Thank you for considering me as your therapist.
My path into this work didn’t come from one place—it came from a deep curiosity about what truly helps people change.
Early on, I was trained to support others through talk therapy, and I saw how powerful it could be to be witnessed, understood, and held in difficult moments. But over time, I began to notice that insight alone wasn’t always enough. People could understand their patterns, yet still feel stuck.
That led me to explore the body—how we carry emotion, how we hold tension, and how healing often requires more than words. Through movement, breath, and presence, I saw people begin to shift in ways that felt more real, more lasting.
And still, something felt incomplete.
There was a deeper layer—something connected to meaning, to transition, to the parts of us that don’t always have language. As I followed that thread, I found myself drawn to ceremonial and shamanic practices that honor the unseen and help give shape to profound inner change.
The Threshold Process grew out of this journey.
It’s the integration of everything I’ve come to trust: that real transformation happens when we engage the mind, the body, and the deeper parts of ourselves—within a space that is intentional, grounded, and safe.
Becoming a licensed clinical social worker has always been a career goal. Growing up, I constantly advocated for vulnerable populations and had a deep understanding of people’s emotions. As the oldest child and daughter, understanding family dynamics, worldviews, and individual experiences came naturally. In my career, I’ve provided psychotherapy to court-ordered parents working to reunite with their children, teens in a school setting as a behavioral health therapist, and millennial individuals as a primary therapist. As a first-generation college graduate, an entrepreneur, and a businesswoman, I also understand the challenges that come with starting something from scratch and learning as you go. Sometimes, you need to speak with a relatable yet unbiased party to process your thoughts and feelings about everyday stressors that you may not feel comfortable sharing openly. I use evidence-based practices and unconventional interventions to reach clients where they are.
